About Us

Bella Vita Ranch is the creative remake of the previous Arabian Horse Ranch formally known as Crystal Hills Farm. After purchasing the ranch, Henry and Karen thought long and hard about a name that would be appropriate. Reflecting on a memorable vacation they spent in Tuscany where they fell in love with the beautiful hills and mountains of Italy’s wine country, Bella Vita Ranch was created. The English translation of Bella Vita is “beautiful life”.

We wanted to share our life with beautiful animals that are comfortable in the cold climate of New Hampshire’s North Country while producing amazing fleece that can be turned into incredible textiles and yarn.

Karen is an accomplished quilter and fiber artist. She is passionate about all forms of fiber art and will make herself available to discuss the various products we produce.

Bella Vita Ranch is located between Lancaster and Jefferson New Hampshire off the Presidential Hwy (Route 2) near the intersection of North Rd and Gore Rd. Our address is 16 gore Rd, Lancaster, NH 03584

A Passion for Animals and Artistry

We are dedicated to raising alpacas that thrive in New Hampshire’s North Country climate while producing exceptional fleece. Our Huacaya alpacas are known for their soft, dense fibers, which we transform into artisan-quality yarn and textiles.

Karen is an accomplished quilter and fiber artist whose love for fiber art extends into everything we create. She’s always happy to discuss our handmade products and the process behind them.

Bella Vita Ranch is a heartfelt evolution of what was once Crystal Hills Farm, a former Arabian horse ranch. After acquiring the property, owners Henry and Karen envisioned a space that would reflect their love for nature, animals, and craftsmanship. Inspired by a memorable trip to Tuscany—where they fell in love with the rolling hills of Italy’s wine country—they chose the name Bella Vita, meaning “beautiful life.”
